202412 YTD Trading Outcomes

Terrible performance this year on my end! I lost the trading account - I had it coming, considering what kind of absolutely reckless decisions I have been taking. Single biggest recorded loss of my career so far. Having a laptop of a car stolen bleaks in comparison. Hope to never do it again. Anyway--

I've already re-funded the trading account to allow the same level of risk taking (writing credit spreads). You can see by the crawl since October that I'm recovering losses.

I have a method of reducing risk: I can switch from credit spreads back to covered calls (which is The Wheel Strategy). I have a way of combining The Wheel with credit spreads, so that the two share risk. I am learning and aquiring new methods. I have some relevant automation in place.

I think I have a pretty solid strategy, but for now I'll shut up and not claim knowledge of trading, considering the abysmal actual outcome that I've delivered for self. (The inventors of the Black-Scholes pricing model also went bankrupt, as did Jesse Livermore, so these things happen commonly.)

As a reminder, as long as central banks exist and we use paper for money, trading is *necessary*. Value is continuously being destroyed by central banks' actions, and in my opinion selling theta decay is a great way to counter that, on individual level. In fact we are all fortunate to have access to derivatives markets. A lot of people in the world don't.

So even though the chart looks terrible, I am optimistic. I wanted to share a year-end update to not leave y'all in the dark. Have a great weekend everybody - yee'haw.
